2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION NEWSLETTER
December 22, 2025
DOG RIDGE WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION
2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION NEWSLETTER
(AKA: The Annual “Who Wants to Volunteer for Way Too Much Responsibility?” Announcement)
It’s that magical time of year when three Dog Ridge WSC Board seats are up for election:
- Mark Mahler – finishing his full term like a champ
- Rudy Watkins – appointed to a surprise vacancy
- Jeff Combs – also appointed to a surprise vacancy
All elected seats come with a three-year term, plenty of paperwork, and bragging rights at family gatherings.
SO YOU WANT TO RUN? WE LOVE THAT FOR YOU.
Applications are available on the Dog Ridge WSC website or at the office, where we’ll happily hand you one with encouragement and possibly snacks.
Each application must include 20 signatures from Dog Ridge WSC customers who believe you’re responsible enough to help run a water system.
Reminder: A household counts as ONE signature, even if there are 16 people living there.
(Yes, we count customers, not humans. Don’t ask. Its bylaws stuff.)
IMPORTANT DATES (WRITE THESE DOWN OR REGRET EVERYTHING LATER)
January 18, 2026
Applications with all 20 signatures are due. We’ll review them the same day and notify you if anything needs to be “cured” (which sounds medical, but we promise it’s just paperwork).
January 23, 2026
Deadline to submit your fixed-up, ready-to-impress-us application.
January 28, 2026
You’ll be notified if you’re running unopposed—which means instant victory, confetti optional.
IF WE HAVE MORE CANDIDATES THAN SEATS:
Congratulations! We officially have democracy.
This means:
- We must have an independent auditor, and we’d love a volunteer. Contact the office and get on the list if interested. If you can count to ten without using your fingers, you may already be qualified.
- February 7, 2026
Ballots mailed out, complete with candidate bios and qualification statements.
BALLOT DEADLINES:
March 8, 2026 – Mail or drop box ballot deadline
March 9, 2026 – Hand-delivered ballots accepted until the Annual Member Meeting begins
Ballots will be counted at the meeting, winners will be seated, and a catered meal will be served because everything is better with food.
Thank you for supporting Dog Ridge WSC, participating in local governance, and reading this entire newsletter without falling asleep.
